Fellowship at the Batangus Restaurant Feb 9, 2011
The U.P.Beta Sigma Fraternity Alumni Association, Makati Chapter hosted a gathering for visiting UP SoCal brods Aman Carolino, Edsel Arceo & Roy Antonio last week Thursday. It was an evening filled with laughs, food, chugs, and animated reminiscing of frat tales & stories. Some brods were talked about in good jest and I'm sure quite a few probably gagged on their food if they happened to be eating at that time.

Brod Roy Antonio just arrived that early morning, while I think brods Aman & Edsel had a few days head start. In any case, the fellowship was a definitely a good way to break their jet lag and provide a deep slumber that evening. I was invited by Brod Boyet Fernandez whom I had lunch with the previous day. It was great to connect with all the brods after such a long hiatus. I met my kabatch brod Nilo Punzalan and had a grand time catching up. We will try to locate the rest of our batch mates so we can plan to host a batch gathering.

Lunch at Taste of L.A. Resto on Roces Ave, Q.C.
Last Saturday Feb 11, 2012, I had a late lunch with brods Aman, Edsel & Roy, joined by brod Joel Paredes. The UP SoCal brods were supportive when I was in the U.S. last year during my treatment at Loma Linda.*  My ex-girlfriend and wife of 38 years ( Beth ) wanted to host them for lunch at our home but they were busy as preparations were underway for the Sunday Tito De Santos Tsinelas para sa mga Bata project. They needed to be close to campus.

The food was awesome !  We savored really good Filipino dishes like crispy pata, sisig, kare2, bonoan bangus and icy SML ( I just watched...hehe ). I asked brod Aman why we were eating Pinoy food in a restaurant named Taste of L.A.? Brod Aman texts the owner so we find out that there was a variety of western specialties on the flip side of the menu. Hahaha.. It was a nice afternoon well spent with the brods.
