Brod Ollie, what was the training program of Brod Rudi? How long did it take? Are more brods involved in the program? Pleased to hear that SOMA is much alive.

Brod Vic, for some time now, Brod Jopet and I have stopped the usual training arrangement we used over the years, i.e. geared mostly towards residents, remote (UPS campus) locations, at least one (1) week, as results were disappointing in terms of spreading the discipline among the ranks, the lack of commitment after training and upon leaving the academe, very expensive, etc.

Recently, and while waiting for the JFC MA, we have included community/subdivision-based trainings, especially where brods reside, targetting older brods and members of family and friends, and introducing specific disciplines that are more useful as we continue to age. Of course, resident brods are still welcome, but they have to handle all needed arrangements to attend these sessions where conducted.

Right now, practice sessions are scheduled in LB, Antipolo, Cainta, and Cebu (when I'm there, as no instructor has been fully qualified yet). The instructor-trainees are preferably Brods or Sisters, but if none, the best performing members are trained so the group can continue practicing even when we are not around.

To date, we have the following instructor-trainees:
o (ANTIPOLO) - every Tue, 8:30AM @ HT. Susan Hassig - leads pratice at Hinulugang Taktak.
o Rudi Oviedo - will introduce T'ai Chi in Palos Verdes.
o Pia Solon - will introduce TCYS108 at Fairmont Hill Subd.
o (BULACAN) c/o Brod Mars Robosa. Mars Robosa - currently conducting Yoga/related exercises/training in his subdivision in Bulacan, but will introduce TCYS108 Johnny Chiuten Form there.
o (BROOKSIDE) every M/W/F, 7AM at the Oval Park.Tony Enciso - resident, Yolly Joson - resident, Bob Ocampo - resident, Brillo Reynes - resident, recently started to lead.
o (CAGAYAN DE ORO) c/o Brod Ben Albarece. Ben Albarece - still training, will lead sessions in CMU & CDO.
o (LOS BAÑOS) every Thu, 4:30PM at the UPLB Carillon area. Freddy Fajardo - already an instructor, leads LB sessions.
o Norma Fajardo - a Sis, being trained as instructor for LB.
o (QUEZON CITY) - Bobby Navarro - training to be an instructor, will lead sessions in QC.

If you are interested to introduce this (T'ai Chi JFC form) inyour subdivision, let's arrange it, Brod. Training combines remote (video instructions via viber, write-ups and related materials) and actual sessions. If you have good "materials", i.e. with MA background or very willing to learn, in 5 sessions you may have an instructor who can already lead Phase I. Then, the rest will follow. Perhaps we can arrange for a "demo" session with your co-subd residents, and choose potential instructor-trainees from there.

Cheers!
