Congratulations to our new President Aman Carolino and the new Board of Directors.

Effective immediately, I am turning over the cudgels to Brod Aman so he can start performing his duties as early as today.

My gratitude to the Outgoing BODs for making UPBSI into what it is today – vibrant, transparent, supportive, stable and without major hitches for the last two years. My gratitude also to the BODs during my term as Acting President from October 2015 to February 2016, especially to a group called “Good and Noblemen” that also helped me bring back then President Edsel Arceo to finish the rest of his three remaining months with honor.

My gratitude to our beloved departed Nong Fred Aquino, who was very much a part of the “Good and Noblemen”, and who did most of the work of transforming UPBSI into an organizational status that delivered us from paying onerous annual taxes. We will forever be indebted to him for many things he did for us.

My gratitude to Philippine Treasurer Raffy Hidalgo and US Treasurer Roy Antonio for submitting “AUDITABLE” Financial Statements prior to our turnover to the new Board, and keeping our state of finances healthy with a balance of P834,700.

Since I will continue to sit in the BOD as Immediate Past President, I will be suggesting that our residents find some creative means to recruit more good prospects that our new BOD can finance. Having lots of money in the bank is good, but it is even better to have less balance in the bank if the money is used for projects that bring in new good recruits.

Thank you for all the accolades like the ones from Brods Mon Ventura, Carlo Malabanan, Dan Lachica, Jim Gonzalvo, Edwin Acuna and others. I am already 73 years old and encountering health problems. But we are still Betans until we pass on, and I will continue to help our fraternity as best as I can.

Dear Fellow Members of the Board and all the Brods in UPBSI,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those (in the BOD) who voted for me for President. I really do appreciate your confidence in me to do what’s in the best interest of our beloved UPBSI and to move our organization forward toward excellence.

I especially want to thank and acknowledge the exemplary leadership by our outgoing Prez Brod Noli. I know Sensei Noli's stint as Prez is truly a hard act to follow, but with the support of the entire BOD and all the member-Brods, the least we can do is continue Brod Noli's legacy.

I also would like to salute our COMELEC Chairman, Brod Fred Young, for a job well done. Maraming Salamat - Brod Fred.

In the next few days I will endorse the new set of Officers, for the approval of the BOD and it will be published by the appointed Secretary.

In accordance with our CBL, we have to submit a 'Work Program' for the next two years. To the new members of the BOD - your inputs will be greatly appreciated, and at this point I believe the priority is not only to increase our membership (alumni), but most importantly how we can be of assistance to all UP Campuses residents in their recruitment programs.

Once again - Maraming Salamat po!
