Pictorial: UP SoCal general meeting & Roy Antonio's birthday

Covina, CA, Sept. 29, 2018

We're not telling how old, or young, Roy is. But at the UP SoCal meeting last Saturday at John & Greta Antig's
residence in Covina, CA, he counted just four more years before he starts playing golf full time!

The birthday boy blows the candles. Four more years... and -- "Fore!!"

Edsel and Willie dig in on Roy's super big lechon.

Joe Lalas & Roy Antonio with Zeni Rivera, Linda Lalas, Dinah Antonio, Nancy Bacosa, Greta Antig and Iou Valenzuela.
[Not in picture is Chit Taguinod, who had left earlier, and Joyce Evangelista, a late arrival.]

Front: Manny del Rosario, Bernie Bacosa, Edsel Arceo, Dan Galoso and John Antig.
Back: Roy Antonio, Aman Carolino, Jun Valenzuela, Ed Rivera, Hernan Tabamo, Willie Vergara, George Abrina and Norm Bituin.
[Not in picture is Carling Taguinod, who had left earlier.]

New arrival is Erwin Salud, back 3rd from right. George Abrina holds iPhone picture of Boy Pantig. The reason? See below.

Earlier, Ernie "Boy" Pantig, UPD'73C, a new UP SoCal member who had driven to LA from home in San Diego County, passed out. We called 911 and the paramedics
took him for a thorough examination at the hospital. Not having taken any water the whole day, thank God it was nothing more than a severe case of dehydration.

After a few hours being checked at the hospital and back at John's after the "scare", Boy takes a big gulp. Lesson: "Bottled water - don't leave home without it."

Brods drop the beer (briefly) and join in the bottled water toast. Another late arrival is Jamsey Evangelista, seated 4th from right.

Bernie and Vale chime in on the vocals.

And the music goes on with Joe and Manny on the ukelele and guitar, winding down close to midnight.

To all the brods that were at the SoCal general meeting & birthday celebration for Roy, especially our hosts the Antigs, thank you for a wonderful time.

Although I may have dampened it a bit, and even put a scare in a few, it has now become unforgettable. I’m home safely and my heart feels huge from

brotherly love & concern. Until we meet again...

Cheers!
