A good occasion to gather and celebrate the coming of the Risen Lord, on Easter Saturday night, March 31, 2018. UP SoCal brods and wives gathered for a potluck fellowship dinner at Ed & Zeni Rivera's home in Anaheim.

This was also an opportune time to welcome some visiting guests and new brods locally in the Southland.

-- Potentiano (Israel) Rada, UPD'68a, is a pastor in Baguio City. All the brods in the days knew him only by his Israel first name, so Potentiano was a surprise. El explained that Potentiano is the stated name in his birth certificate. But coming from a family of pastors, when he was baptized the "higher" and more meaningful and religious name of Israel was entered instead in the baptismal certificate. Officially, he only now uses the birth certicate name of Potentiano to avoid bureaucratic confusion.

-- Glenn Abarquez, UPD'68a, who was a Diliman varsity swimmer (like my batch mate Dr. Charles Macalalag MD, also from Pagsanjan), has moved to Long Beach with his present partner. Glenn may be the most prolific Blitzkrieg. Glenn has eleven kids: two from his first wife (separated), nine from his second (deceased). Coming from our neighboring towns of Santa Cruz and Pagsanjan in Laguna, it really was a thrill for me and Glenn to see each other and recall our youthful "promdi" escapades after more than 40 years.

-- John Antig, UPB'77, who graduated with a BSEE degree from the University of San Carlos in Cebu, is an engineering supervisor at Los Angeles Metro Rail. He lives in Covina with his wife and two young sons.

-- Willie "Tatang" Vergara, UPD'67a, was vacationing from Northern California with wife Tess, their sons Victor and Carl and their families, and also to see daughter Ria and family in LA.

The night ended with a tentative plan to organize a family outing in Las Vegas sometime this year.
