Meet the 2016-17 UP SoCal GP - Roy Antonio

On November 22, 2015 – the UPBSF Southern California Chapter elected Brod Roy Antonio as the incoming GP for the years 2016-2017, with his mission statement :“to move onward and forward, build and rebuild, to unify and stop division among brods and commitment to complete transparency.”

During his teen years – Brod Roy has been a ‘professional student’, from 1976 thru 1979 – he was enrolled in UP Diliman, major in Business Administration. In the 1980s he enrolled in Philippine Christian University, De LaSalle University and later at Ateneo De Davao University. Finally, in 1992, Brod Roy graduated with cum laude honors from the Brooklyn College of the City University of New York with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting. Brod Roy and his family moved to California from New York and in 2000 he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the California State University San Bernardino with concentrations in Finance and Information Management. Brod Roy worked for European American Bank in New York from 1988 thru 1992; worked for various community banks in Riverside, California from 1992 in various capacities (internal auditor, accountant, Controller, Project Manager) and is currently employed at The Bank of Hemet, a $500 million community bank in SoCal as its SVP/Director of Information Systems.

Brod Roy is ever so fortunate to be married to the ‘one and only love of his life’ – Dinah. His loving wife graduated in 1979 from San Pedro College (Davao City) with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Dinah has worked as a pediatric nurse at the King’s County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York from 1983 thru 1992 and has been working as a pediatric nurse at Loma Linda University Medical Center since 1992 and is currently a unit supervisor in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The Antonios have raised four good and loving children - the eldest, Celina Abigail (28 yrs old) – is in the US Army since right after high school, and married to Ryan Hoar (also in the US Army). Karen Angela (26 yrs old) – PhD candidate, Notre Dame University, will be married to Mathew Bailey (also a PhD Candidate) on 12/12/15. The third daughter, Donna Azalea (23 yrs old), graduated from Cal State University San Bernardino and currently works in the school district as adjunct teacher. The youngest, Roy Joshua (17 yrs old), is currently a Senior in Redlands High School.

Brod Roy is a member of the UP Diliman Beta Sigma batch 77A with Yay Topacio, Poti Aparato and Deo Gonzaga. He is also an avid and skilled golfer having walked recently the renowned grounds of the three Pebble Beach courses with his favorite playing partner Brod Dr. Art Martin'69.

During the past Tito De Santos Community Projects – Brod Joel Paredes, the Ninong of the Diliman residents, would always gather the resident Brods and tell them to introduce themselves to the “Frat legend of the late 70’s – Brod Roy Antonio.”
