2013 Christmas and Elects New GP

On the very first day of December, 2013, the UP Beta Sigma Fraternity (Southern California Chapter) held its Christmas Party at the historic San Antonio Winery in the heart of Downtown LA (two years in a row at the same fabulous winery place).
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

About 40 people attended the affair (brods, wives and 3 children). There was a 20-minute tour of the facility before we started partaking of the sumptuous lunch (individually ordered from the Maddalena Restaurant). After the luncheon, the ladies had their turns singing karaoke songs (karaoke system courtesy of our dear DJ Brod Jimmy de Luna). While the ladies were belting their favorite songs, the brods were gathered around two tables, and while drinking wines Brod Roy Antonio suggested that since we already had a quorum, we might as well hold the election of the new Grand Princep (2014-2015). The motion was moved and seconded and the table was opened for nomination of the next GP.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Brod Ed Rivera was nominated and soon after he was nominated, there was a motion to close the nomination. So - It is now official - the incoming GP of the UP SoCal Chapter for the years 2014 and 2015 is Brod Ed ‘Amang’ Rivera II.

To Our Incoming GP, Brod Amang – “We pledge our continued support to you and your new set of officers”.

On behalf of the outgoing officers – I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the UP SoCal brods and their lovely wives for their unwavering support (for the last two years), to keep the brotherhood well and alive in Southern California.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To all the outgoing officers, as well as the Council of Elders – my sincerest thanks for the enduring service and sustained ‘alalay’.

We are also very grateful to all the Brods in the Philippines (Mother Chapter, and residents) - for their relentless and tireless support of our annual Tito de Santos Community Project.

And of course - we are always honored and thankful to the UP North brods, the entire North American continent (US and Canada) brods, and to the current Central/Mother Chapter Prez Brod Rolly Reyes, for their constant and unfaltering camaraderie and fellowship, not only during our fraternity balls, but since the beginning of time.

 

   

 

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

 

   

 

   

 

 

 

And to Brod Joel C. Paredes, my personal gratitude for being the special guest speaker, during our last Ball. “Soya Dorb!”

Last but definitely not the least – our most sincere pasasalamat to the Band of Brothers, competently and skillfully led by Brod Gerry Abenes, for their extraordinary and continued rendition of great sounds and memorable music. I will never forget the best musical event I have ever attended – September 1, 2012, our Hospitality Night at Brod Sonny Pagador’s place. THREE HOURS of non-stop rock & roll. The Best !!!
