TThe UP Beta Sigma SoCal kicks off the year 2013 with its annual fund raising event – the 9th Flor Pagador Memorial Bowling for Charity, held on January 26, 2013 at the Jewel City Bowl in Glendale, California. Funds raised from this event will help subsidize the coming 7th Tito De Santos Community Project, which for this year will be a Feeding Program for the poorest of the poor children in the UP barangays.

As in the past years, the event coordinators, Brod Manny and Sis Elma Gatmaitan, were once again responsible for bringing in at least two dozens of avid bowlers from their regular ‘tropa’ of Pinoy bowlers. A total of 32 bowlers registered and played for the event. As in the past years, Brod Manny once again donated the first and second place winners’ prizes for the men’s division, as well as the first prize for the women’s division. The runner-up winner in the men’s division for this year is Mr. Lito Eusebio, who had a 3-game total of 629 and received $50 cash prize. The men’s division champion is Mr. Lito Mercado, with a 3-game total score of 631 and was awarded a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label and the perpetual trophy. On the women’s side – we have a three-peat champion, Ms. Bela Ordona won the women’s division once again for the third time, with a three-game total of 534, and was awarded $50 and the women’s perpetual trophy.

With the team effort of the SoCal brods – the 9th Flor Pagador Bowling for Charity was another success story.

On behalf of the UP Beta Sigma SoCal, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the players who participated in the Tournament and to all our kind friends and relatives who made donations for this worthy project.

Till next year!!
