Brod Edsel and myself arrived in Manila on February 5, 2012. Brod Joel Paredes together with Resident Brod GP Josh, Brod Jerrick and Brod Patrick met and  picked us up at the airport.

The very next day, Brod Rolly Reyes hosted a breakfast and lunch and we had a meeting with the UP Campus Barangay rep, Brod Poti Aparato and Brod Bino Aguinaldo, to finalize the program and all logistics for the event. On the 3rd day, we were able to purchase the "tsinelas" from a supplier referred by Brod Poti. We had our final meeting with the Barangay officials on Friday, two days before the event, at the UP Campus Barangay Hall.

February 12, 2012 - the day started with a light drizzle (at 5am), and the weather forecast was 60% chance of rain (for the whole day). It was really cloudy 'til about 8:45am... and all of a sudden the sun came out... the first thing that Brod Edsel said was "Our angel, Brod Tito, is really watching over us". We were expecting about 1400 children.. but at the end of the day more than 1600 children came (plus their guardians & chaperones) --- and they all left the place with "ear-to-ear smiles". The children enjoyed consuming the 'taho' and the 'lugaw', and each one got a bottled water. The kids also had a great time with the clown and the magicians. Aside from the nice pair of tsinelas, each child also received laundry detergents, as well as ready-to-eat packaged ulam.

With the full support of the UP Beta Sigma Fraternity alumni here in the Philippines, as well as the resident brods - the 6th Tito De Santos Community Service Project - was a TOTAL Success!

Our thanks to our sponsors - San Miguel Corp who provided bottled waters (c/o Ms. Tina Martin), and to our dear Brod Rudio Oviedo, who was able to get the sponsors for the laundry detergents and the packaged ulam.

And guess what? A few minutes after the event it started to drizzle again, and after about 30 minutes - the downpour started!

It was truly one 'happy' and truly inspiring event, to say the least. Everybody was happy! It was really worth the effort!

Mabuhay ang U.P. Beta Sigma!
