The 7th "Flor Pagador Memorial" Bowling for Charity sponsored by the U.P. Beta Sigma of Southern California Foundation, Inc. was held on January 29, 2011 at the Jewel City Bowl in Glendale, California.  The purpose of this annual activity is to raise funds for scholarships given to needy and deserving students of the University of the Philippines since 1986, and for our 5th Tito De Santos Medical and Dental Mission to be held on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the University of the Philippines, Diliman Campus.

There were 34 bowlers who participated this year.  First place winners were Victor Hilvano for Men’s with a total score of 697 and Bella Ordona for Women’s with a total score of 549 for 3 games, respectively.  In second place for Men’s was Lito Mercado with a total score of 681 for 3 games.  A perpetual trophy and Johnnie Walker Blue Label was awarded to the Men’s champion and a perpetual trophy and $50 was awarded to the Women’s champion.  The Men’s second place winner was awarded $50.

The traditional 50/50 raffle was held and the winners of $25 each were Brods Aman Carolino and Jamesy Evangelista.  Twelve bottles of wine were raffled as well.  Also, free tournament t-shirts were given to all bowlers and attendees.  A special thank you to Brod Manny and Elma Gatmaitan for once again coordinating this successful event.

Lastly, our sincerest gratitude to the parents of our dearly departed Brod Flor Pagador, Brod Sonny, sisters Nida and Florence, and their families for attending this memorable event.  And as always, thank you to all U.P. SoCal brods and sis who solicited donations.  With our combined efforts, we will continue our commitment to making a difference and “helping others as they continue to meet each of their needs with dignity.”

In honor and in loving memory of Brod Flor Pagador UPD'73, DVM
