Addendum

Read about why they chose to join UP Beta Sigma from our new brods of Batch ‘25a.

What enticed me most to join Beta Sigma is the concept of equality.

To be a part of a brotherhood without a sense of selfish superiority, a brotherhood that values respect over hierarchy. There is no sense of seniority in terms of time. Everyone pushes each other to be a greater version of themselves. I am confident to say that the environment that Beta Sigma creates truly fosters growth.

This is why I chose to join Beta Sigma.

Tidbit: Brod Leon is a member of the men’s football team.

Choosing to join Beta Sigma was not a decision made lightly. I was drawn to this fraternity primarily because of their strong emphasis on community service, which aligns deeply with my desire to give back and make a positive impact beyond myself. Participating in their well-organized community activities provides me with the opportunity to contribute tangibly to causes I care about (specifically children through OBB), fostering a sense of fulfillment and responsibility.

Additionally, Beta Sigma’s commitment to internal bonding activities impressed me greatly. The fraternity’s proactive approach to building close-knit relationships among members promises a supportive and enriching social environment. I value the balance between service and fellowship, and Beta Sigma exemplifies this harmony, making it an ideal place to grow both personally and socially.

What truly sets Beta Sigma apart for me is the honorable way in which they present themselves. Their respected reputation on campus reflects not only their achievements but also their integrity and respect for tradition. The fraternity’s core values resonate deeply with my own beliefs, creating a sense of belonging and purpose. Being part of Beta Sigma means embracing a brotherhood that is grounded in honor, respect, and shared commitment, which I aspire to embody on my own journey. Joining is more than just becoming a membre. It's a commitment to these ideals and to a community that uplifts and inspires.

Tidbit: Brod Gab is a cousin of Sis Bianca Domingo, granddaughter of the late Kuya Domingo’57.

The main reason I chose Beta Sigma was because of my uncle, Dr. Alvin Natividad of the UP Beta Sigma Visayas Chapter ’96A (Bangka). Growing up, he would often share stories about his time in the fraternity stories of brotherhood, service, and the lifelong bonds he built. His experiences and the values he carried with him inspired me to follow the same path.

Tidbit: Brod Dorthan is into Muay Thai (Thai boxing).

I chose to join the Beta Sigma Fraternity because I believe in its enduring legacy of honor, loyalty, and brotherhood. For decades, Beta Sigma has stood as a beacon of excellence, producing men of integrity and service. To be part of such a distinguished circle is both a privilege and a responsibility.

The fraternity embodies the ideals I wish to cultivate in myself: discipline, courage, and an unwavering commitment to others. By joining, I am embracing not only a brotherhood but also a lifelong mission — to uphold the traditions of Beta Sigma and to carry forward its noble values.

I chose Beta Sigma because it is more than an organization; it is a family of men bound together by shared principles and a common vision. It is my honor to walk alongside my brothers, as we continue to serve, to lead, and to live by the ideals of Beta Sigma.

Tidbit: Brod Moy and his sponsor, Brod Hex Ccino Libarnes’24a, are cousins.
