Brotherhood in High Altitude

Dorbs,

I went up to Baguio to visit NBN4's transmitter construction in Mt. Sto Tomas in Baguio City. I met over dinner our UP Baguio brods and two LCs led by GP Miko Ponce Lopez.  It was a "funtastik" night of joyful exchanges as we all cherished Baguio Country Club's pork sisig, calamare, and gambas consistently washed down with rounds of SanMig lights and Absolut Kurant vodka.

They presented one "amuyong" that will hopefully pass the "finals" tomorrow.  The brods are in the right track as this lone amuyong has an impressive scholastic standing.  The residents recounted with pride their earlier encounter with their "Ninong" Willie Nep a few months back. (They call him Lolo Willie!).  They were impressed with the fact that all Betan alumni deal with them like long lost brothers and that we deal with them in "tambayan" mode and in traditionally "Betanspeak".  There was a jovial exchange of anecdotes that affirmed the residents' lead role in the UP Baguio campus.

GP Miko discussed their forthcoming projects for 2010 and introduced JR as the incoming GP.  These resident brods' tight and energetic bondage is an eye-opener that we all hope to spread in the UP system. They are all reflections of the exuberance that we had during our youthful days.  I had to remind them and make a little sort of "pangaral" that as much as they all enjoy this fraternal bondage, they should continue our doctrine of academic excellence and always work to affirm that UP Beta Sigma is the fraternity of choice.

Wishing the best and a toast to all UP Baguio Betan brods!
