The OBBF Celebrates at its 2012 Christmas Party

The Operation Big Brother Foundation (OBBF) of the U.P. Beta Sigma Fraternity Diliman (OBBF) had a triple cause for celebration at Mets Bar at the Metroclub in Makati last December 15 2012.

First, the OBBF held its annual Christmas Party festivities. The perfect venue came with the help and connections of the UPBSF Makati Chapter. The grateful younger generation of brods made full use of the venue without damaging any property and having only minor incidents of disorderly behavior. AND, the brods made sure the bill was paid before leaving. UPBSF Inc. President Rolly Reyes ’66 honored the event once again, which pleased the brods no end as the brods all knew the kind of busy yuletide schedule El President has. The OBBF did away with the boring speeches and presentations this year in favor getting right down to the business of serious drinking. The always loud OBBF festivities were interrupted for a short while with the surprise arrival of some young women who provided alternative entertainment. The Betan wives who were present pretended not to mind the excuse that it was our ancient right to breed.

Second, in an OBBF Board of Trustees Meeting at the same venue, Brod Jig Reyes ’87 appointment to the OBBF Board of Trustees was confirmed with a unanimous vote of confidence. Jig ’87 who is the Country General Manager of Amigo Strategic Solutions a software company, has been an active volunteer of the OBBF since its founding and incorporation in 2002. Jigs ‘87 was nominated to the OBBF Board of Trustees over two years ago by former OBBF President Bernard

Lastly, at the same meeting Brod Pete Danao ’92 was appointed as the 5th President of the OBBF. Pete ’92 has chaired several OBBF Projects over the past 10 years with has had a 100% success track record. A practicing lawyer, Pete ’92 has brought his skills and experience as the Managing Partner of the Madrid & Associates Law Offices to the OBBF. In November 2010 Pete ’92 was confirmed as a Member of the OBBF Board of Trustees, having been nominated by then President Brod Jason Justo ’92 in 2006. “Brad Pete” as he is sometimes called will serve as the Foundation’s President at responsive and rejuvenated OBBF is assured. The baton was passed to Pete ‘92 by stalwart and founding Trustee Lloyd Dizon ’87 who will resume his alpha-male duties with the other past Presidents.

The event ended with high hopes, renewed enthusiasm and warm memories.
