Unparalleled, unsurpassed and unending Christmas celebration.
Such was UP North's 2016 Christmas party. It was another stellar night filled
with much fun, music and great fellowship. The tradition was to hold it midway
between the Bay Area, Sacramento and Stockton -- and so it was, this year in
Vallejo at the clubhouse of the Blue Rock Canyon Golf Course with break taking
views of the area.
The evening began serving catered and sumptuous meal of favorite Filipino dishes
and dessert -- to everyone satisfaction. Lots of booze, wine and drinks
siyempre.
To the tune of the Beatles song "In my life" the program began. It was
unstructured and free flowing, allowing for much group participation.
The improved Band of Brothers of Brothers provided wonderful entertainment with
a new repertoire of songs that included traditional Christmas carols. In between
their regular numbers, the ladies of the chapter rendered musical numbers to the
brods delight.
It would not be complete without the raffles. Lots of gifts (including several
$100's) were raffled out with 2 Golden State Warriors tickets as the grand
prize.
To cap the evening, outgoing GP Ding Cavestany sang our chapter song, Louie
Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I9QMP3MFV3k
- reminding us that even in the midst of trials, adversity and conflict we see
around us -- it is still indeed a wonderful world we live in. Much to be
thankful for.
Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all !!
