      Good to be back
      by Gabby Moraleda
“It was fun but its good to be back.. home” – was the mood of UP North
brods and couples who took a trip to Manila and several parts of the
country. Weather is always fine during the months of January & February
and it was a great time to have a vacation.

There to scout for a “soulmate” was Ernie while JR went on “official
business”. Eric & Lita (Bulacan), Ding & Julie (Manila) and Boy & Irma (Ilocos
Sur) attended high school reunions while Gabby & Cy went to Naga for the
90th birthday celebration of her mom. Gene & Genny got sick in Cabanatuan
(a bummer) while Bong & Eileen joined family in Manila and then flew to
Mindanao. Kiko and Tetet had a great time in Cebu & Subic Bay.

The travelers could not wait to share their escapades – with family,
friends, schoolmates and the brods. Brod Titing Valdez was host to those
who were able to make it – at their Calatagan beachfront property. Puedeng
mag mini-fratball doon. Ang mga topic of conversation revolved around
Manila traffic (because of road reblocking), new malls (try out the
Fisherman and Robinson Magnolia malls), new restaurants and the favorite
      past time – Philippine elections.

February is always a busy month for the fraternity and the central
chapter. It was extra special because brods from UP North and South CA
made it to scheduled and “surprise” frat activities -- such as, the well
attended 8th Tito De Santos Medical Mission in UP, Pres. Rolly’s get
together at his Santa Maria home, batch 65 salo-salo, UP Central Board
Meeting, Padasal for brod Mando Enrico, Ding Martinez Memorial Service and
batch 69a-Panzer’s 45th yearly party. Picture of these events are
chronicled at Rolly Photo Album at https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/117278527024755333421/albums.

And what a way to welcome the “viajero’s”. UP North hepe David and sis
Mercy (who were really homesick) called a surprise pot luck party at
former GP Gerry and sis Lleva’s Richmond home. Lots of kuwento. Pasensiya
yung wala. Na miss ninyo. To highlight the night, those present pooled an
amount to buy Mega Million Lottery tickets (the pot was at $ 400 Million)
primarily for those present and “assignees”. A portion of the tickets were
designated for the rest of the chapter. Keep your fingers crossed – sana
      naman tumama tayo.

As usual nagtapos ng almost hating gabi. Hindi pa mainit and upuan ay may
mga nag plaplano ng magbiyahe sa May, Jun at siyempre July – the 68th
fratball. Sige tayo na -- uli!
