Another Well-Attended UP North Christmas Party by Willie "Tatang" Vergara

The traditional Christmas Party
of the UP Beta Sigma Northern California Chapter was held last December
22, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at the Biryani Banquet Hall in
Hercules. It was the second time the Chapter held this annual festivities
in this venue.
Following were the committees organized for this purpose (from MOR meeting minutes): Food: Gene Samson, Ding Cavestany, and Eric Punzalan; Bar c/o Lleva Abenes to benefit Rainy Day Fund; Coffee c/o Gerry, Dessert c/o Dave Villegas.
Program/Entertainment: Boy Ramos, Gabby Moraleda. Emcees were Fred Aquino and Johnny Regadio.
Prize donors: First Prize - Sacramento Group (A color LED TV 32" Samsung won by JRegadio). Second Prize - Louie Cabaluna. Other prizes - Winston Acevedo, Ding Cavestany, Gabby Moraleda, Dave Villegas, Gerry Abenes, Ike Araneta, Boy Ramos, Eric Punzalan, Bong Beredo and other volunteers.
Inspite of the absence of many Chapter mainstays, this event was another well-attended and successful event. The event started solemnly as Billy Monteagudo offered a special prayer for Pogs on his final struggle with the Big C. Towards the end, Joe Monteagudo (who had emceed past Christmas parties of the Chapter was back in the early 2000s) led another prayer and the attendees followed this up with a song, "O Holy Night". A most fitting and memorable ending of this Chapter's annual event.
