What a Trip!

What started out as a business trip turned out to be a mini vacation split in half. The first part came about because I had to cancel the Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok leg of the trip, and ended up visiting with Tony Lu in Cebu.

Salamat Brod Tony for making my first ever visit to Cebu a memorable one, Cheers!

Then from Cebu hopped on a plane back to Manila for a flight to Hong Kong.  Spent the week visiting businesses in Shenzhen and Taiwan before heading back to Manila to conduct a supplier visit which had to happen the day after elections, this time staying for almost 6 days.

After visiting with suppliers and relatives,  nights out with the brods eventually had to happen.

Here's a picture of Bobby Manansala'67b and I sharing a few beers at the Holiday Inn at Clark.  It was a meeting that I particularly enjoyed and treasure. My trip's chronicle would not be complete without a picture of us two having a few beers.

Ike in Makati

One day after the first automated national election in the country, we met with Brod Ike Araneta of UP NorCal here on a company sponsored visit with his officemates.  It was his final leg of an Asian business tour that covered KL and China. We wasted no time in trying to set up a series of eyeballs with alumni brods. Earlier in Clark Angeles Pampanga, he met with Brod Bobby Manansala and then met with the group led by Makati Chapter spearheaded by Brods Boyet and Enching. Attendees were Brods: Founder Rico Arranz, Nonoy Bautista, Boyet Fernandez, Enching Rodriguez, Dennis Navarro, Ross Fernando, Joel Paredes, Pat Roman, Dante Agulto, Torch Manalang, Sonny Pagador, Jojo Alejar and myself. The legendary warm exchanges of UP Betans once again filled the central portion of "Batangus Resto". Next day, Brod Ike will meet with his batchmates at "Gerardo's" in Quezon City to welcome him as well on his short visit. GP JR Roque of Baguio will see him to personally extend UP Baguio's gratitude to UP NorCal's financial assistance. A fun time to see a true-blue UP Betan - Cheers to Brod Ike Araneta!!!!
