Brod Tomsak Criador Wins Monsanto's Most Major Award
by Willie "Tatang" Vergara
It is a great Betan honor and
pleasure to celebrate the latest and most major award of Brod Tomsak Criador –
the "Monsanto Master Salesman Award". Along with this award was a free trip plus
accommodations to Maui, Hawaii for him and his wife Janina, where the award was
given.
Prior to this award, Tomsak had multiple local awards
over the past 5 years such as highest Product-on-ground (POG), highest POG
growth, Top Net Sales Growth, Top Market share growth, and a couple of project
leadership awards. “But the Master Salesman Award is my biggest achievement in
my career yet,” he declares.
Brod Tomsak Criador and I first met during a half-day
training program I conducted for the UPLB residents in October 2010. He was then
the current Grand Princep, and we had a brief but quality time together after
that seminar over several bottles of beer.
As almost every Betan does during a period of
acquaintance, our conversation included the exciting campus life, to include the
most memorable encounters with rival frats. I was just on the listening end.
Even then, I already observed that this Brod would go places someday. It was
after his GPship in 2012 when he started the Mixed Martial Arts that has now
become an annual UPLB activity. This is now famously called the BATTLE ROYALE,
the first MMA event in Los Baños.
Now on Year 7, this is his crowning glory, indeed. And during his tenure, he and
his co-residents also held the FOLKWAYS. As a human resource practitioner who
been very involved in executive selection, I observed that this young GP had the
guts, the passion, determination, organizational and planning ability, and the
leadership quality needed to attain success as a young professional.
Brod Tomsak is part of a Betan Family - Jojo Criador ’81 and Sigma Betan Grace ‘82, who bore one Sis and three Brods: Zsak, Sigma Beta‘04; and Beta Sigmans Tomsak ’06, Heugo ‘09, and Yanco ‘11. He entered the frat during his freshman year, batch 2006F-Renacimiento. “I married my high school sweetheart Janina and we now have two beautiful daughters, Harper and Maia. They are my reason and inspiration for everything,” Brod Tomsak says with pride.
Tomsak graduated in 2012 and
his first job was as a campaign sales executive in Monsanto. “I carried nothing
but my Betan experience and Betan principles since my grades were not that
impressive,” said he. In 2015, he was promoted to District Channel Manager
covering the entire Region 3 and still holds the position until today.
