UPLB Beta Sigma Celebrates 63rd Anniversary

The 63rd Anniversary of UPLB, a week-long celebration, was definitely a huge success. It commenced with Malmon Cup 2013, a basketball tournament, last August 10 which was participated by the new millennium alumni brods who played against the residents. The former won the tournament with a score of 2-1. MVP certificate was awarded to Brod Jonathan Arzadon '02C Gurkhas.

During the August 13 anniversary day, the residents organized a motorcade around the campus to show our force and numbers. The students who witnessed the activity were apparently impressed and amazed since no organization has done it in UPLB before. After the motorcade, the brods spent the rest of the day celebrating the anniversary with beers and rum.

The day after the anniversary was our Symposium entitled "Preservation of Mt. Makiling Biodiversity" with Brod Atty. Roberto Oliva '74E as our speaker. Most of our guests came from the Graduate school.

The highlight of the week-long celebration was the Campus Day held yesterday, August 16. Almost 35 alumni, one of which is our UPBSF Central President Brod Rolly Reyes, came to be part of the commemoration.
 

This event would not be possible without the unending support of our alumni. We give credit to the anniversary chairman Brod Nathan Bantoc who worked hard but he was admitted to the hospital yesterday afternoon and was diagnosed with dengue and typhoid. With this we would also seek for prayers for his quick recovery.
