Brod Frank Gorrez, Jr.'52 recently published a book "GROW PADDY RICE SUCCESSFULLY" 2010 Edition and donated a digital copy to IRRI and the UPLB Library today.  Likewise, he has authorized the fraternity to distribute the same for free.

 

If you are involved in rice production either as a farmer, trainor or teacher this book is for you. We can send a digital copy by email to you which can be translated in your own language or dialect.

Brods and Sis',

Let us welcome Brod Frank Gorrez '52 who will be here in LB April 18 & 19 to attend IRRI's 50th anniversary. A US based agricultural consultant, Brod Frank is an accredited agronomist and extension specialist listed in the roster of consultants of the USAID and in the roster of scientists for the major crops of the developing world, prepared by the Office of Agriculture Technical Assistance Bureau, USAID/Washington, D.C. He has served as a consultant of the USAID, World Bank, FAO, ADB, and UNDP. His expertise is on designing, planning, and implementing diverse agricultural programs in South and Southeast Asia and Central America.

Brod Frank received the Distinguished Alumnus Award in International Agriculture from UPLB in 2000 for his distinct achievements as an agronomist, extension specialist, and project manager of various agricultural projects in Asia and Central America and for being a hands-on manager.

Through the fraternity alumni association, he will donate a rice manual/book to the UPLB library, entitled "Grow Rice Successfully. " And most of all, he would like to meet the alumni brods and sis' during his free time on April 18 from 1-4PM. I will pick him up at the SEARCA International Hotel then let's welcome him at the bar, Splash Mountain Resort. See you there! Please pass on to other Brods and Sis'.
