A Nature Trip in Tanay with Brods & LCs

Feb 22, 2023 - Manila brods treated visiting brod Jun 'Vale' Valenzuela and LC Iou Bulan-Valenzuela to a nature trip away from the bustle of Metro Manila.

M4 Laiban Nature and Campsite in Laiban Tanay is a 2-hour trip from Marikina. The place is owned by architect Brod Richie Agbulos and his wife LC Monette Rosario-Agbulos.

We, Brods Richie Agbulos, Jun Valenzuela, Dan Bautista, Meng Canlas, Kim Cabatit, Gerard Alo and LCs Monette Rosario-Agbulos, Iou Bulan-Valenzuela and Joy Lacanilao, went in three 4 x 4 vehicles as we had to go through 9 river-crossings.

The campsite is 22 hectares of nature with mini-falls and a river cutting through the middle of the property.

We arrived before lunch. Summer had arrived a week early but the surrounding air in the campsite was not humid as mountain air neutralized humidity.

The place was set for a grand time - lots of booze, food and reminiscing the old good college days.

We had a bonfire in the evening and enjoyed the fog that surrounded the place until early morning.

Feb 23, 2023 - The following day we went trekking along the riverbanks as we doubted being capable of trekking the steep mountain trails after boozing until early morning. We bathed in the refreshing cool water of the river which came from the nearby mountains instead.

We packed up in the afternoon bringing along lots of good memories of the place and headed back to civilization.
