likewise declare 2010 as the Year of UP Beta Sigma Fraternity. The Los
Banos Betans recognize the need for a solid and a unified UP BETA SIGMA
FRATERNITY that transcends great distances and different cultures between
each chapter in the U.P. SYSTEM. Therefore, we pledge our full support in

Below is a calendar of traditional activities for the next Academic Year:
January:
February:
BETAN VALENTINE
- This is an annual tradition of the Fraternity as our own version of
Valentine’s Day. During this event, we give red roses to any girl who
passes by the TAMBAYAN. In addition, we render “harana” in the dormitories
inside the University. Through this one-day- activity, we were able to
showcase the romantic sides of the Beta Sigmans.
March:
INDUCTION BALL
- This is an annual activity that is usually preceded by the Election of
Officers for the next Academic Year. Induction Ball is the venue to induct
the new members of the Central Committee and the awarding of the Betan Pin
for the new members of the Fraternity.
April:
TESTIMONIAL DINNER
- Is a traditional activity which serves as the venue to pay honor to the
noble graduating Beta Sigmans. In this Formal Affair, we were able to pay
tribute to the contributions of each graduating Beta Sigman to the
Fraternity during their resident years.
May:
INFIRMARY ASSISTANCE:
- Is an annual activity which aims to help freshmen students during their
Medical checkup in the University Health Service as part of the
requirements for admission. For years, the Fraternity has been a regular
volunteer organization in the UHS. This activity is not only a publicity
act but also a form of service to the University.
June:
ALMOSALAN
- Is a gathering of organizations sponsored by the University Student
Council to welcome the Freshmen to the University of the Philippines. Our
Fraternity offers breakfast to every Freshman who visits our booth.
July:
August:
BETAN MONTH IN LOS BANOS
- Is a month- long activity to commemorate the foundation of the
Fraternity in Los Banos on August 13, 1950. This year is indeed the year
of the UP BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY, especially in Los Banos, since we would
be celebrating our Diamond (60th) Anniversary. However, the list of
activities for this year has yet to be finalized.

- October 10, 2010 is “THE DAY”. The UP Beta Sigma Fraternity Los Banos
Alumni Association in coordination with the U.S. – based Beta Sigmans have
arranged an array of activities for the 60th Anniversary of the UP Beta
Sigma Fraternity Los Banos.
November
December
37th Operation: Big Brother
- Is the longest- running outreach program in Los Banos. In this event, we
host the less fortunate children in a day of fun games, “salo- salo”, and
gift- giving in the spirit of the Christmas Season.

Brod, you have our full support here in UP Mindanao for the 2010: The Year
of the UP Beta Sigma Fraternity. We gladly submit ourselves in service to
our noble fraternity. We are very excited to be part of a global

On the addition of the two new brothers, Thank you brod! We have two new
brods to nurture. The recruitment effort here will persist. We accept the
challenge of making the UP Beta Sigma Fraternity the fraternity of choice
