JCPS SOMA Trains Core Instructors

Just an update from the "physical" side...

Last 21-24Nov, the respective Core Groups of trainors (resident brods) from Diliman and Los Baņos started training on the "exotic" yet "deadly" art of Bagua. This was the style that our late Master Brod Johnny Chiuten was vigorously pursuing during the last years of his very productive MA-life. His favourite and very loyal student was tasked to look for the "worthy" teacher of the genuine discipline, but when he did, it was unfortunate that Brod Johnny left us a week after.

JCPS SOMA President, Master Brod Jopet Laraya, flew in from Hong Kong, together with Sifu Patrick Lee, the 3rd generation Head of the Fu-Style Taichi/Bagua techniques. In August this year, Sifu Patrick was formally installed as the world-wide Head of the Fu-Style, in a dinner attended by the surviving family of the founder and the current heads of the various MA disciplines still active in HK.

Attached are pictures of the proud members of the groups from Diliman and LB. Sometime this month, the Baguio Core Group will be established, followed by the UP Mindanao brothers, and ultimately, our resident brothers in the Visayas.
