Brods,

The Johnny Chiuten Pronus-Supinus School of Martial Arts (JCPS SOMA) will conduct the following trainings, as indicated:

19Feb (late PM): for UP Los Banos Residents (by Brods Master Jopet Laraya & Freddy Fajardo)

21Feb (PM): for UP Diliman Residents at the UP Gym (by Brods Master Jopet Laraya & John Alejar)

22-25Feb (4-day): for UP Mindanao Residents - Instructors' Training (by Brods Master Jopet Laraya & Ollie Jumao-as)

This is in line with our goal to provide the resident brods with good physical conditioning, as well as learn the skills handed down by the late Brod Grandmaster Johnny Chiuten as his legacy to the members of the U.P. Beta Sigma Fraternity.

Basic coverage:
- Tetada breathing techniques
- Stretching and warm-up exercises
- Basic stances (static and dynamic)
- Tai Chi Yang Style 108 (Phase 1)
- Bagua Fu-Style 8-Form Changing Palms

UP Los Banos Beta Sigma

In UPLB, Brod Jopet giving lecture on JCPS SOMA

while brods are in "straddle", or "at ease" position.

Brod GP Paolo Hernandez leads the UPLB brods

in the execution of the Bagua 8 Changing Palms, Fu-Style.

UP Diliman Beta Sigma

In UPD, Brod Jopet shows some take down moves

using basic Tai-Chi moves and the straddle position.

UP Mindanao Beta Sigma

In UPMin, trainee-brods display the favorite "single-whip"

and a little show-off of the various forms

the basic JCPS SOMA attack, the "sagasa" series

and the 3rd hand-form of the Bagua Changing Palms

with Brods Mon Carpio, GP Cho Lukban, and Norman Dumalag

UPMin brods proudly display certificates after 4-day training, with Sis Bobbie (SB) as guest.

Good afternoon to you too, Brod Master Ollie. Nagpapasalamat ako ng husto dahil pinaunlakan nyo ang aming imbitasypn na dalhin ang JCPS-SOMA sa UP Mindanao. At naglaan talaga kayo ng oras at lakas para kami ay maturuan. Napakalaking utang na loob para sa amin na kami ay binigyan nyo ng pagkakataon na maging bahagi ng JCPS-SOMA. Sisiguraduhin namin na malayo ang mararating ng ating nasimulan, brod. Maraming-maraming salamat sa inyo ni Brod Master Jopet. Hanggang sa muli, brod! Cheers!

Patuloy na suporta ang ibibigay namin sa lahat ng mga UP Campus trainors para tuloy-tuloy ang ensayo na gagawin sa bawat campus. Sa UP Mindanao, kahanga-hanga ang patuloy na suporta na binibigay ng mga "alumni" brods sa mga residente, halos sa lahat ng kanilang mga activities! Sa 4 na araw na training, walang patid ang ayuda nina Brods Mon Carpio, Norman Dumalag, Anggie Angliongto, Treasurer Bimboy Yap, at lalo na si Brod Stephen Tay, kung saan ginawa ang training- sa rooftop ng kanyang malaking gusali! Maraming-maraming salamat, mga utol!

Brods Danny Abad LB75 and Adel Oviedo LB78C were also present to welcome us and extend support and assistance to the UPMin trainee-brods!

i have been contemplating on having a book published re: brod johnny's art, i.e. evolution, background etc, n it would b great if u could provide assistance re contacting other elder brods who one way or the other participated in the frat's martial art n perhaps forwarding to either you or myself any material (pics, written info, etc) that can b used in this proposed book.
