Betan Mini-Reunion for Levy del Rosario

Brod Levy was very happy because 4 of his frat batchmates were there to welcome and greet him, literally like long lost brothers! They had not seen each other for 45 years!!

Brods of Batch '63 were: Levy (Vet Med), Jun Advincula (Vet Med), Ambassador Jimmy Yambao, Eding Hizon of the well known Hizon Pharmaceutical Laboratories (Eding's father was Professor Hizon of the UP College of Pharmacy and teacher of Mrs. Nora Topacio, a graduate of UP Pharmacy '51), and Toti Que, an economist retiree from the World Bank. I organized the lunch at Max's and reserved for only 10, but 16 came. Brod Levy requested to please let him pay for the lunch when I told him that as the host I would pay for it.

 

 

 

 

 

The Founder Brod Rico Arranz came with Mrs. Sol Arranz. Levy requested me to bring Mrs. Topacio. He still remembers that time long time ago when the vets at the Chicago area had a welcome lunch for me and Mrs. Topacio. I brought Mrs. Topacio who is now on a wheel chair to meet again Brod Levy. Vice President Brod Rolly Reyes with his very expensive camera was present and the results are the pictures you are viewing now. Brod Dr. Ben Ustaris (Dentistry '48) came on a balikbayan visit. Other brods present were: Butch Madarang, Past Rotary President; Mars Robosa, Technical Assistant to Executive Secretary Ruben Torres of President Ramos; Chito Tapawan, a Bataan province mate of Levy; and Brod Vic Ramos, former Secretary of the DENR during President Ramos. It was a mini-reunion and all the brods had a grand time recalling the old days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The ever thoughtful Brod Levy gave each one of us a big bag of products from his farm. The UP Betan alumni will meet on December 6 at the Celebrity Plaza for the the election of new officers and he will be given a Fraternity award of recognition for his meritorious socio-civic accomplishments. The brods were amazed and full of admiration on how he was able to do all those inspite of the fact that he is busy with his practice in the US. We will give you a feedback on the events during the alumni meeting.
