"Critical Times"
by a critical mind Brod Joel Paredes

[Photos by Rolly Reyes and Egay Aguilar]

A great book was launched by an even greater mind in the midst of a cool Tuesday morning, appropriately in a hollowed ground - UP Diliman. This year, the Executive House was host again to its most frequent patrons - the UP Beta Sigma Fraternity. This time we were outnumbered by a special group of people in the media circle - all showing their great respect for our man of the hour - Brod Joel Paredes '73UPD.  It was also the launching of a summation of reverence to a passionate writer, a social activist and a seasoned journalist. The photos you will see will validate all the superlatives heaped on our dear brother Joel as he received throngs of guests led by our Betan brothers, sharing the pride and dignity of a UP Beta Sigman.  Publishers, columnists, feature writers and newswriters mingled with the brods, and personal friends including Vice President Jejomar Binay, former Senators Nene Pimentel and Kit Tatad and many more.  It was a magnificent event for an equally magnificent brod.

Congrats and cheers Brod Joel!
