REMEMBERING KABATCH ‘MON GALIT’ LIGASON
UPD'68a “Blitzkrieg”

We remember our Kabatch Mon as reserve
and affable. Kabatch Walter Navarro, who was notoriously an alaskador, gave him
the moniker “Mon Galit”. His facial expression was mukhang serious at galit lagi. But he actually was a kind, friendly and funny guy.
Laging inaalaska ni Walter akaTerio yung dalawa naming Ilonggo batchmates (MonL
and Emil Divinagracia). Terio would always say “pungko ka dira” whenever the two
would come to the tambayan. Mon took whatever Terio dished out and he always
took it in stride with a good-natured laugh.
He did not fail to come and still maintained his friendly demeanor when meeting up with
his old batchmates in Bacolod where we reminisced about our days in Diliman over
beers.
And as a Lolo, he was ALL SMILES, no longer living up to his nickname. Di na siya "Mon Galit".
