I am personally indebted to Brod Orly who was literally my kuya, my older brother who guided and helped me on my first job as a 21-year old rookie detailman in his hometown of San Fernando, Pampanga. I was with Winthrop Stearns and Orly was with Bristol Myers. More on this episode when we build his website memoriam. Dacal a salamat, coyang Orly.

I was able to communicate with Brod Orly in 2008-2009 when I found out that he was living in San Diego with his daughter. I even shipped to him Red Ribbon empanadas. He also sent me his own home-made tocino, or "'burung babe" as my Tarlac relatives call them. I am forever grateful and will never forget how you took me under your wing, coyang Orly.
