We will have on-site viewing of his ashes at the Resurrection Chapel of the Santa Maria dela Strada Parish on October 21 from 10 am - 8 pm and again on October 22 from 9 am - 8 pm. Though we would want to open the viewing to more people, existing health protocols limit the capacity of the Chapel to a maximum of 20 people at any one time. The first day is for family members only. Friends are welcome on the second day.

Vic Tirol ‘64 was one of the best writers (including speech writing), mass media practitioner and professor. Very low key, humble, soft spoken and well respected.

The late Alex King shared with me that one of the rumbles in the mid-60’s was when Vic was ganged up by Sigma Rhoans. The brods had to get even (bawi) for what they did to Vic, a lesson for Rosigs never touch or even dare a Beta Sigman!

Vic will be missed.

Vic was more than my journ mentor at the defunct Roces’ Manila Times—having known each other way back when both our fathers (as well as Ding Sabandal’s UPLB ‘68) were municipal health officers in the undivided Davao province in the mid 50s.

BROD VIC AND I CALL EACH OTHER OFTEN. SOME OF HIS RELATIVES ARE FROM DAVAO.

Batch 64D celebrated its Golden Anniversary last 2014. It was Brod Vic Tirol who took the legwork in organizing, planning, calling our batch mates for the coming event to ensure a successful affair.

He did the write up, press releases and even designed our uniform with Brod Jess Abrera who did the artwork. We became close with him during the period of our Golden Anniversary.

Our Golden Anniversary celebration gave us also wonderful time for many of our batch mates to see each other after a long time. We see him as a very simple, quiet, hardworking person.

But we will always remember Brod Vic in our hearts .
