So sad to hear of Brod Butch Tadena’s passing. He was a well loved and respected Brod from Forestry.
Because he came from a strong political family,his mannerisms in dealing with group camaraderie became his trademark in the tambayan dynamics.
He would descend from Forestry to CO-OP dressed in long sleeves, very presentable with a good sense of humor. He always looked in your eyes when you talked and he listened to anything you said, a politician’s desirable trait.
I never saw him again after he left UPLB, but heard he joined the family political dynasty and served as mayor of his hometown. He belonged to a Betan family too.
My sincere condolences and deep sympathies to the family he left behind.
He will always be remembered. May his good soul Rest In Peace.

It was very sad learning about the sudden demise of Brod Butch Tadena, brother of our Brod Amado "Lito" Tadena. Sending my prayers and deep sympathy to the Tadena family and all the grieving relatives of our brods in Ilocos Sur. Lito and I have been close ever since Diliman days. We were both initiated the same year, 1961 Diliman. I may not have known Brod Butch Tadena but I know that the Tadena brothers are true blue UP Beta Sigmans.

On a recent Facebook and face time conversation, I also noted that Lito was using a wheel chair. I was saddened seeing him like that. Gave him my brotherly salutations and wished him well. I hope Lito gets this posting.

God bless the Tadena family and certainly, no cheers here.

I second what Brod Vee posted earlier about brod butch. I knew him prior to his acceptance to our fraternity, he
being from the same province (Ilocos Sur) and more so only 2 towns apart. I believe our late Brod Ernie Tremor
had something to do for his coming to LB and being a BETAN because there are other brods from same
municipality of Sto. Domingo - Ernie, Hapon Torre, Claude Tajon and Flor Tesoro. If you notice all last names starts with letter "T",
a way the Spaniards imposed to collect taxes.

Indeed, Brod Butch exudes the true Beta Sigman, jolly yet humble and showed leadership qualities and of course good looks- always
wearing white long sleeves hahaha! The time I talked with him was when Brod Sonny Pagador were together in Vigan about 3 years
ago. Vividly, I remember him telling me that he was eyeing an elective provincial post of Ilocos Sur and of course in a joking way, funds
was needed to do so and was banking the assistance of all Beta sigman brothers. And lately last Jan. he was making plans after party

 of the 10-10-20 celebration.

I know he would do good and in relation allow me to quote one our creeds that fits for him as mayor of his town.

" ... I SHALL PASS THIS WORLD BUT ONCE, ANYTHING I CAN DO FOR THE GOOD OF MEN, LET ME DO IT NOW FOR I SHALL NEVER PASS THIS WAY AGAIN..."

I knew Butch from way back during action days where upon Forestry brods would descend to join us. Both of us initiated in 68 in different chapters bonding in a common cause.
Soft spoken with a smile and ready to mix it up. That was how I recall him.
Ernie (Tremor) his kababayan knew Lito and Butch personally. Butch was named after Floro Crisologo, then governor an ally of his father then the mayor. He grew up from a political family which later on both brothers dominated politics alternating top positions.. Both continued what they started - making Sto Domingo a prosperous municipality.
So long my brother. Rest In Peace, you left a legacy we all can be proud of.
