Brods, it is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our brod, Dr. Jose Ruiz Navarette UPD ‘56. He passed on April 16, 2020 in Chicago, USA.

My Vanguard co-batch called me tonight to correct the location correction where brod Joe resided and died.
He called a cousin of Brod Joe, Mr. Medina, and got the information that it was Skokie. IL not Chicago.
He died from contracting C19. The funeral was yesterday with four relatives and friends in attendance.
We pray, may he rest in peace. Amen.

Following Brandy's lead from his Vanguard co-batch that Brod Jose Navarette lived in Skokie, not Chicago,
I googled the funeral homes in Skokie. I found his obituary on the second funeral home, Donnellan Family

Funeral Services, that I searched. There is a touching family video and I took some photos for his memoriam.

I called Carling Taguinod'57 DVM if he knows Brod Joe. He remembers him as a basketball player for UP Medicine.

Brothers Dear and Ladies (Midwest USA),

It is my solemn duty to inform you of the passing of Brod Dr. Jose R. Navarette (UPBS Diliman 1956).

Last Wednesday, April 22, Brod Norman Bituin (UPBS Dil. '65 and webmaster of the UPBSI website) sent me a message stating that he had received reports of the passing of Brod Dr. Joe in Chicago.

We did some research and made inquiries, and through the diligence of Midwest-USA Brod Brandy Ancheta (UPBS Dil. '61A), we were able to confirm the sad news.

Although I never had the privilege of meeting Brod Joe in person, when I looked at the video tribute in his obituary, I can easily see that he loved, and was loved by, his family and friends.

I ask that you take a moment to pray for the eternal repose of Brod Dr. Jose R. Navarette, and for strength and comfort for his family and loved ones.
