It is with deep sadness to let everyone know the passing away of brod Teopisto Buban Villanueva Jr. UPLB 63 yesterday  due to cardia arrest/penumonia.

There are many of Jun's character among us -- sa Tambayan he was meek, soft spoken and mild mannered. He transferred to UP Diliman to enroll at the College of Veterinary Medicine but was unable to complete the degree when his USAFFE scholarship got depleted. He had to take a job to sustain himself.

We worked together at the Ministry of Human Settlements for many years but lost contact after I moved to the US. Jun went back to Albay, got married, and continued his government service until he retired several years ago.

When I frequented Naga City, we would make time to meet and have fellowship. He had settled down, got a house, built a wonderful family and enjoying retirement life.

Jun, a devout Catholic, was gifted, extremely hard working, a faithful husband/father/grand father, a true and noble Betan and a loyal friend.

I grieve over his death but am comforted that Jun is in the presence of our Lord.

And, to us Christians, it is not godbye -- but until we meet again, brother.

Gabby Moraleda

Teopisto (Pistol) Buban VILLANUEVA Jr. Batch '63 LB.

I remember this brod as a soft spoken who indoctinates neophytes w/punchlines emphasizing the benefits of a Betan. A truly die hard Beta Sigman & a very caring husband & father. Last time I met Jun was about 4 yrs ago when he was checking in at Fersal Hotel Malakas QC wherein I was also in the queue. I was staring at him & after signing in. I mentioned his complete name w/c I very much memorized, & he didn't recognize me. Introduced myself & he recalled everything. So we exchanged our greetings, pleasantries & invited him to Xmas party of the frat that evening. He was there & enjoyed so much after drinking beyond his capacity he kept on calling his wife in his cp & telling her how much he loved her, a caring husband. He was very happy during that time. Now brod JUN, you are in the Kingdom of the Lord, may you Rest In Peace, & we will pray for your eternal repose.

Brod Teopisto Buban Villanueva, Jr was my freshman classmate at vet med. I will never forget the times when we drank Ginebra in Balara and had to ride the last trips of JD to Cubao via Katipunan. He used to hang out at Kamia for an Ilongga and frequented to visit a sis in Malate. I met him for the last time in one DAR function in Lebak town in Sultan Kudarat; I had to take him to his hotel kasi we had few beers (too many for him).

I missed reading the poems that he used to write; I missed his company during our school days. Brother Buban, I will pray for the eternal repose of your soul; to the family of brod Jun, my deepest condolences for your loss.
