The Rising of a UP Beta Sigman

It was not the usual awarding ceremony but a ceremony that makes brod Eddie a
“cut above the rest”. The conferment ceremony of the Government of Japan of the
Emperor’s Order of the Rising Son to brod Egmidio Cesar “Eddie” S. Jose by
Ambassador Koshikawa Kazuhiko was held at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence at
Cambridge Circle, North Forbes Park , Makati City on 24 January 2024.
The Award of the Order of the Rising Sun was in recognition of brod Eddie’s
contributions in strengthening the bilateral economic relations between Japan
and the Philippines. The ceremony was simple and solemn befitting the
personality of a deserving, humble, respectful and nondescript UP Beta Sigman,
the first brod to receive such award.

Present at the Ceremony were his wife, Alice, his children, Edward, Patricia and
Joanna, grand children, other family members, former Prime Minister Ceasar EA
Virata, Senators Dick Gordon and Bert Romulo, business partners, colleagues in
the Automotive Industry, government officials, relatives and friends.
Ambassador Koshikawa also congratulated brod Eddie and Alice who are celebrating
their 54th wedding anniversary on this day of conferment. The attendees then
chimed in their congratulatory messages to the couple.
Congratulations. We, your brothers in the Beta Sigma Fraternity, are very proud
of your achievements that brought honor to our country and fraternity. Cheers.
