PETE GATBONTON '57

Dear Brods,

It is with deep regret that I pass this sad news to the UP Beta Sigma Fraternity International alumni.  The Lord has called two of our own:  Brod Dr. Ning de la Paz, PhD, UPLB'57 and Brod Dr. Pete Gatbonton, DVM, UPD'57.

Brod Ning passed away March 9 in the Philippines.  The wake is at Christ The King at Green Meadows, Quezon City.  The Betan rite will be on March 13 at 8pm and interment is on March 14.

Brod Pete succumbed to a heart attack in Las Vegas, where he lived, on March 10.  His body will be brought to Los Angeles.  The viewing will start at Forest Lawn Cypress on March 14 with the interment on March 18.

We fondly remember our happy times with Brod Pete, his wife Josie and sons Ulysses and Archie in Southern California.  He was our Grand Princep in 1994-95 and he was a such a jovial brod to be around.  Brod Ning and his wife Selly also visited LA and graced a couple of our meetings and get-together, thanks to his host and batchmate Dr. Frank Mamaril.

We will post this message and other additional info in the International website (www.upbetasigma-international.org).

Let us offer our prayers for our departed brods and their families. Brods Ning and Pete, you will be missed.

Very sincerely,

Dear Brod,

Thank you for letting us know of the passing away of these two beloved brods.  We will offer prayers for the final repose of their soul and for peace and comfort for the loved ones they left behind.  We thank you for making sure we are aware of news like this, though sad.  Gestures like this make us truly feel we are and will forever be like one big family caring for each other despite the distance.

May God bless you and everyone in our fraternity.

Sincerely,

Mel
