Resolution No. 4--Approval  by the Board of Directors to Fund the Live Screening of  Pacquiao-Algieri

Boxing Match

The Board of Directors(BOD) unanimously  approved  on 13 November 2014 a resolution sponsored by President Edsel Arceo  to fund the live screening of the Pacquiao-Algieri boxing match, a project of the UP Diliman resident brods.

 

The UP Diliman resident  brods   submitted  the project proposal to the Board on 5 November 2014. This was done through   Operation Big Brother Foundation(OBBF) and  was  endorsed by UPBSF Central Chapter. While the project is basically to raise funds, its greater value is to encourage interaction between  prospective recruits and resident/alumni brods. UPBSFI has formed a  partnership with OBBF and UPBSF Central Chapter to attract more recruits to the Fraternity of Choice. We in the UPBSFI  have adopted the Targeted Recruitment Program(TRP) in our  Work Program for the next two years.

 

The amount of US $227, roughly equivalent to Php10,000, has been  earmarked for the financial assistance. This is to purchase 20 tickets for  the live telecast event, each ticket valued at Php500 each.

The resident brods will identify prospective recruits and give them free tickets  to generate interest in  the Fraternity.   The brods  are optimistic that  the goodwill generated  will greatly influence the targeted individuals to join  the brotherhood. A post-evaluation will be undertaken to assess project success.

 

The fight between Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algieri will be held at the Venetian Resort in Macau, China but  there will be a live streaming  in selected venues in the Philippines, including Busters in Quezon City where the frat screening will take place.

 

The proposed source of fund will come from UPBSFI’s operating cash balance in the United States.
