2014-2016 Term
Resolution No.3--Approval of
Funding by the Board of Directors to Support UP Diliman
Resident Brods in the Varsity Team Competing in the 2014
UAAP Swimming Championships
Reference No. 00302102014
The Board of Directors(BOD) approved on 02 October 2014 a
resolution sponsored by President Edsel Arceo to fund
seven(7) UP Diliman resident brods who are participating in
the 2014 UAAP swimming competition. The seven resident
brods are all members of the UP Varsity Team, which is the
UAAP defending champion in both men’s and women’s divisions.
In a letter to the Board, President Arceo said that the
request for funding was originally submitted by the seven
competing brods to the Operation Big Brother
Foundation(OBFF) and was subsequently forwarded to him. In
endorsing the resolution, President Arceo appealed to theBoard
to give financial support to the resident brods’ campaign to
bring back the glory days of the fraternity in the field of
sports.
The UPBSFI will shoulder fifty per cent (50%) of the
proposed twenty thousand pesos (Php 20,000) budget committed
by OBBF. This will roughly be two hundred and twenty three
dollars(US$223). The
UPBSFI has been a consistent partner of OBBF in various
projects in the past to promote the fraternity’s name.
The proposed source of fund will come from the UPBSFI’s
operating cash balance in the United States.
The breakdown of expenses during the four-day event follows:
Recovery food and meals Php 8,000
Gatorade energy drink 5,000
Muscle tape 7,000
-----------------
TOTAL
Php 20,000
The Board through President Arceo also received on 02
October 2014 the following communication from OBBF
president Peter Danao:
“Dear President Edsel Arceo,
I would also want to take
this opportunity to inform everybody that the Central
chapter thru Brod Rolly Reyes, is also keen on supporting
the VST brods. I have asked the VST brods to provide other
expenses they will incur in this UAAP event, which starts
today, that may not be covered by the initial Php 20K fund.
Rest assured, we will monitor
and update the proceeds of UPBSFI, Central and OBBF’s joint
contribution on this. Best regards.
Peter Danao”
