Harana '10: A Night of Music and Love

February 8, 2010 6:00pm onwards

A day after the final rites in Pampanga, the brods gathered at 4:00 p.m. at the Tambayan to prepare for the Harana events. Other brods prepared the roses to be given to the girls of Kamia Residence Hall.

Some of the alumni brods started arriving around 5:30pm while the resident members began setting up in the venue. The venue was outside the dorm open space to accommodate a lot of people and also to encourage people who were passing by. The event anyway was for free and the audience was not limited to the dorm residents only. After fixing some technical/electrical problems, we  started the Harana before 7:30pm.

The event began with an introduction of Brod Miel Adonis Udtohan 05D. First to perform was the band Paradigm Shift. They played old songs and provided a soothing mood to start up the night. Next to perform were the brods with the help of some College of Music musician-friends of Brod JP Aguiluz 07C. Residents who sang were Brod Edjohn Rosario 09B, Brod Kim Montaniel 08D UPB, Brod Lorenzo Galvez 09A, UPMin Brod Mray Acido 08B, and Brod Ceferino Villareal 05C. Accompanying music was provided by Brod JP Aguiluz, Brod Arvin Medrano 08A and some other musicians who are not members of the fraternity.

After the performance, food was served to the audience. Next was the dating game hosted by Brod EJ Gonzaga 05A. At the start of the game, the audience was asked to choose one of four brods namely, Charles Co 06C, Leandro Morillo 08A, Macoy Regala 05C and Aldus Agnar 03A UPB. Charles was selected.  After a second performance by Paradigm Shift, the Sweetheart of the night was chosen and was given a bouquet of flowers, Brod EJ performed a duet with her and sang “Bakit Ngayon ka Lang”. Before the event ended, the brods had picture-taking with the Sweetheart of the Night. Around 120  residents of the dorm watched the event together with about 50 resident and alumni brods.

To end the night, the resident and alumni brods celebrated with a jug-a-lag at the tambayan. In a nutshell, the event was a success, Kamia residents were entertained and enjoyed the night and so were the members of the fraternity.

Mga kababayan, hindi po ito si Noynoy Aquino o si Manny Villar na nangangampanya dito sa People's Mobile Station sa National Broadcasting Network, Channel 4 para sa darating na eleksyon.

Ito po ang Dakilang Pinuno o Grand Princep ng U.P. Beta Sigma Fraternity of Southern California, ang higit na magilas at makisig na si Ginoong Edsel Arceo, na galing pa po sa Los Angeles sa America, na nagpapaliwanag tungkol sa kanilang "4th Tito de Santos Medical at Dental Mission" na gaganapin sa Linggo, sa "Araw ng mga Puso", ika-14 ng Pebrero sa U.P. Diliman campus.
