Grand Reunion Host UP NorCal Begins to Plan by Johnny Regadio
What a day of fun when Brothers and Sisters met for a Planning Workshop at the abode of our debonair Brod Kiko Delmendo in Vallejo, CA after Thanksgiving (December 1, 2008). There was no turkey this time. But, as always, there were more than enough food to fill our tummy from lunch to midnight snack.

The group of planners composed of the Council of Elders and Incoming Officers, some with their respective spouses, were joined by the members of the band of UP NorCal chapter. We have no name for the band yet, but there are already several interesting suggestions flying around and a decision will be made during our Christmas party on December 27, 2008.

Everyone got keyed up as we watched the video of the 2001 Grand Reunion. The video likewise showed Brothers and Sisters who attended the occasion, but who will be around in spirit only this time around. This prompted the body to pray for each of them. Brod Tatang Vergara followed with a planning workshop using his motivational skills (DAP style) and group participation method. Everybody shared their inputs in the conceptualization and design of the next Grand Reunion on May 23-25, 2009 in San Francisco.

Ad hoc committees and membership of these committees will be finalized after the Christmas season. From there we will start the ball rolling till the final day. Proposals and the intensity of discussions show determination on the part of the host – UP Beta Sigma Northern California Chapter – to give our guests a real memorable time as in (a) facilitating tours around the charming city of San Francisco; (b) optional out-of-town tours before and after the major festive days of May 23, 24 and 25, 2009 such as the Napa Valley, Yosemite National Park, Monterey and Carmel, etc.; (c) the USA launching of 10-10-10 as a way of generating international (not only UPLB) support for this grand affair; and (d) a whole night of jammin’ and rockin’ a la Folkways featuring our singing legends plus hopefully, the great Brod Willie Nepomuceno. There was even a suggestion if UPLB Brods could show a bit of history through a short musical play.
