The "Ate ko sa Agosto" is an annual undertaking by the Sis' where they get a total of 5-10 girl recipients chosen from all dorms (women's residence hall, coed men's dorm, etc.).The mechanics are simple enough whereby residents of a dorm choose a few candidates which are further shortlisted and screened by the Sis'. The finalists are voted upon by their own dormmates and winners are announced. A small cash gift and groceries are awarded each winner. Total budget of the program is around Php8-10K. It started sa Women's dorm only and expanded to around 4-5 dorms. Sis Zsak Criador started the program a few years back

Fact: 1 winner interviewed by the screening comm subsists on a Php250 / 2 week allowance. According to her, she eats once a day by buying a de Lata (Php20-30 pesos) which she allocates for 2 days.

 I myself was surprised na meron pa pala nun sa UPLB.
