Brod Pete is laid to rest... and
may he rest in peace with the Lord
Brod Dr. Pete Gatbonton'57 received the Betan
rites with Betans all over California and Las Vegas in attendance.
Many stood up and spoke about the simple, sincere and generous character
of Brod Pete. Brods Dr. Carling Taguinod,
Jun Valenzuela, Johnny Singh, Hermie San Luis, Norman Bituin, Hernan
Tabamo and Dr. Lito Uyan were among Brod
Pete's colleagues and close friends who paid their last tributes, even
recounting colorful anecdotes and funny stories, in
an overflowing chapel at Forest Lawn.
The memorial mass and interment were held the following day as Brod
Pete's immediate family, relatives, brods and
friends said their final goodbyes. Reception followed at Pete daughter
Kathy's house in Anaheim where once again
the Betan families expressed their sympathy and best wishes to Josie and
their kids.

BRO. PETE GRADUATED WITH ME IN DILIMAN, Q.C.1959.
THANKS, AND MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.
WE HAD SO MUCH FUN MEMORIES WITH PETE AS STUDENT. WE ALWAYS EAT OUR
MEAGER BAON UNDER THE ACACIA TREES AND WALK TO OUR CLASSES AT THE
LIBERAL ARTS BUILDING. HE WAS VERY SHARP INTELLECTUALLY AND FUNNY MOST
OF THE TIME.
HE FINISHED HIS DVM IN A SHORT FIVE (5) YEARS WITHOUT REPEATING ANY
SUBJECT.
I LOST TRACT OF HIM WHEN WE GRADUATED, AND AGAIN REUNITED WHEN HE LIVED
IN L.A.
WE WILL MISS HIM TERRIBLY.
