Dear Brods,
Congratulations to all the brods for making this affair the most attended fratball by UP Beta Sigmans outside of the Philippines. It was a huge success as evidenced by the presence of brods from all the different states including a well-represented delegation from Canada and the Phils. Distinguished brods from the Philippines and Canada (Founder and First President Jesus Jayme, UPBSAA Philippine President Romy Lumauig, Justice Raul Victorino, Ambassador Tony Villamor, Commissioner Don Ferry, Businessman Anggie Angliongto from Davao, CEOs of multi-national companies Danny Lachica and Bernie Bantegui (just to name a few) came to the US for the sole purpose of attending this historic event.

Unexpectedly high attendance at the UP Beta Sigma USA Symposium early morning of Sunday, May 28, 2001. The night before, Brods and sis had lots of fun at the Welcome Night/Testimonial Dinner for Jesse James.

This is a great reflection that the Betan Spirit is still burning in the hearts of the brods. Conservative estimate would put the number of the UP brods exclusively to at least 130, bringing the number of attendees to about 300 including several members of the family and a few friends.

         

"Small group discussions" turned out to be big groups. Brods discuss how UP Beta Sigma USA can help mold the fraternity's future.

As in the past, the Southern California chapter was very well represented with almost 30 Brods while the host chapter came in with more than 40-strong. The 3-day event was worth every minute of it. It was very difficult for me, and I know for all the other brods too who took part, to express their farewell handshakes and hugs after the picnic.

         
A big majority of brods weren't able to attend the Send-off Picnic, but still, this was the largest attended ever! Look for Maribelle among the big crowd of UP Betans.

The hospitality of the Northern brods could not be matched. And the different recollections from the 40's brods to the present just strengthened the bonds among all the brods. In closing, I would like to express my gratitude to all the brods for investing their time and effort to be with the brods for this historic and memorable event in our beloved fraternity. Cheers to the greatest fraternity.... the UP BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY!!!
