The Happy Betan Funeral Song
By Jig Reyes '87G

I am deeply saddened by our Brother's death. My soul reaches out to his family in this, their time of grief.

But my own grief is short-lived as I remember Brod Banz, for what comes to mind is not his sickness, his misfortune and his death. I remember instead the Banz who taught, the Banz who dreamt, the Banz who created, and the Banz who LIVED!

Now, brothers, I am not much of a poet and God knows my English is atrocious, but this morning in memory of our Brod, I wrote something that I hope you will all improve on, or even change, as needed. Point is, whenever Betans pass on, we must collectively, or alone, remember them in our thoughts, and I hope when some other brod puts music to the following words, we can do remembrance with a song. Brod Banz deserves no less than a song from us.

Now I know that this might be a knee-jerk reaction, but I am hoping somebody else will "jerk off" with me, in memory of Banz.

Who me, Malmon?
